What is it
Materico is a decorative finish for thick application, designed to create surfaces with a rich, textured appearance . Its dense nature allows for the creation of smooth, ultra-matte walls, with small cracks reminiscent of ancient materials, or more pronounced three-dimensional effects thanks to incisions made with spatulas and other tools.
The product is available in two grain sizes:
Materico with a fine grain and Materico XT with a coarser grain, ideal when you want more incisive effects or greater visual depth .

Materico allows you to create solid-color decorations or three-dimensional effects , varying the result based on the tool and technique used. Applied flat, it allows the natural formation of micro-cracks that create an elegant antique effect ; worked with spatulas, trowels, or toothed tools, it can create reliefs, textures , and engravings with a strong visual impact .
The finish is completely opaque and can be coloured in the mass , choosing a shade from the Ferrara Design colour swatches, or overcoloured with glazes such as Stella or with metallic finishes such as Angelo or Duomo, further expanding the creative possibilities.

Application Tips
- Surface Preparation : Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and dust-free. For proper adhesion, a coat of Ferrara Design Rough Primer is recommended
- Flat Application : Spread the product with a flat spatula to obtain even surfaces; during drying, small cracks will naturally form, creating the antique effect
- 3D Application : Use notched trowels or tools of your choice to engrave, model or create reliefs; once dry, it is possible to overcolour with glazes or metallics
- Coloring : For solid color use, Materico can be colored through. Alternatively, it can be decorated later with Stella , Materico Finish , Angelo , Duomo , or other compatible finishes
- Experimentation : Each tool produces a different result; testing multiple techniques allows you to achieve original and personalized effects
